TROPIC Group has business units in Mauritius, Madagascar, and India. We are currently recruiting a Human Resources Officer to join TROPIC team.



Tropic Knits Ltd is currently looking for a Human Resources Officer. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the HR Officer will be responsible for various human resources and functions, which include HR general administrations, recruitment, training and development, performance monitoring and employee relations.

What you will be doing:
  • Be actively involved in recruitment by preparing job descriptions, posting ads, and managing the hiring process
  • Ensure the successful integration of employees through a proper induction process
  • Assist Head of Departments in identifying training and development needs within their departments and design training and development programmes
  • Plan and assess the 'return on investment' of any training or development programme
  • Assist Head of Departments in the conduct of performance appraisal review exercise and ensure that appraisals are organised within set deadline and as per company’s procedure
  • Ensure proper follow-up with MQA & HRDC for refund of courses
  • Act as a point of contact between Management and employees and assist in maintaining good employee relations
  • Counsels and assist Managers, Team Leaders and employees in work related matters
  • Prepare HR reports
  • Organise welfare and CSR activities
  • Assist in the execution of any HR projects or work assigned by the HR Manager
What are we looking for?
  • Degree in HR / Management Field.
  • At least 3 years of experience as an HR Assistant/Officer
  • Proven experience in developing and delivering training programmes to workers, staff and Middle Management
  • Experience in managing people performance process
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • A high level of confidentiality and aware of ethical responsibilities
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The flexibility and willingness to learn
  • The ability to work accurately, with attention to details
  • Great team player and supportive
  • Familiarity with business software such as Microsoft Office/PAYROLL SOFTWARE
  • Good understanding of Employment Laws
