    20 Jan 2017

Ebène, 20 January 2017 – CIEL Healthcare through its subsidiary, The Medical and Surgical Centre Limited (‘MSCL”), owner of Fortis Clinique Darné (‘FCD’), has finalised today the purchase of the business operations of Apollo Bramwell Hospital (‘ABH’), pursuant to the offers which it made.

This is considered to be a very important milestone for CIEL Healthcare which aims, with its technical partner Fortis Healthcare - the new operator of ABH- at raising the bar in terms of qualitative medical care in Mauritius.

While this transaction enables synergies for CIEL Healthcare’s local operations, FCD and ABH will be run as two separate entities with their respective management teams. Sukhmeet Sandhu, Head of International Operations for Fortis Healthcare, will be managing ABH moving forward, working in close collaboration with CIEL Healthcare and ABH teams for a smooth and successful transition.

A rebranding exercise will be conducted over the next few months at which point, ABH’s new name will be unveiled.

Commenting upon the closing, Jean-Pierre Dalais, Group Chief Executive of CIEL and Chairman of CIEL Healthcare said: “We are extremely happy to have successfully concluded the transactional process as it marks the start of new beginnings for ABH and of a positive dynamic for the healthcare sector in Mauritius. Our priority now is to reenergize the teams and work together towards delivering excellent services and medical care of outstanding standard to all patients.”
