Ferney Ltd
Located in the South East region of the island, a region of outstanding natural beauty, the Ferney estate comprises of some 1,300 hectares of land under sugar cane cultivation and some 2, 000 hectares of managed greenwood land. The Ferney region is of great international importance with its unique natural heritage nested in the Ferney valley. The valley shelters some very rare species of endemic trees, amongst some were thought to be extinct for over 100 years, and some rare bird population can also be found.
With a well-preserved fauna and flora, the Ferney area also
offers spectacular panoramic scenery over the east coast of
the island an. And is of great historical importance, being
the first place where the Dutch had arrived in 1598 and where
sugar cane had first been introduced in 1639, in Mauritius. |
