The Anahita development falls under the Integrated Resorts Scheme (IRS) introduced in 2002 by the Mauritian government to facilitate investment and acquisition of homes and property in Mauritius by foreign nationals. Based on its huge investments, the size of the project and its choice partnerships, Anahita is considered to be the leading IRS project in Mauritius and is poised as a benchmark for future developments of its kind. The International Property Awards, in association with CNBC, voted Anahita as Best Golf Development in Africa 2008 and Best Development in Mauritius 2006 & 2008. The overall project cost is approximately MUR 15 billion with construction works having broken ground in January 2006. Deliveries of the residences, having begun in late 2007, are being made in phases and are expected to continue through 2014.
